Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legacy is immense. First published over a hundred years ago, his Sherlock Holmes series remains relevant today with new and exciting TV and film adaptations featuring everyone from Benedict Cumberbatch to Robert Downey Jr. Hired by 93ft as part of their design work with The Conan Doyle Estate, Alastair embarked on a mission to update classic illustrations with a modern twist. Taking original artworks by Sherlock Holmes illustrators Charles Altamont Doyle, David Henry Friston, James Grieg, and most notably Walter Stanley Paget, Alastair meticulously redrew and recoloured them, giving them a fun, modern palette but maintaining the feel of their mid-century provenance. Working on such a project for one of literature’s most revered characters was an honour!
