In this digital residency for arts organisation No More Nowt, Alastair partnered with DAFT, and Bishop Auckland FC to produce interactive art celebrating the forgotten glory of South Durham’s amateur football leagues. Searching the team’s archives and chatting with players from the 50s and 60s, he discovered tales of camaraderie, unlikely triumphs over Southern teams, and sold-out stands at Wembley. It was striking to discover how the team's successes were propelled by a mutual respect and a profound pride in competing, even at the most grassroots level — a far cry from today's big-club egos, right? Local legend Bob Thursby, who captained England while training to be a dentist, epitomised the attitudes of this era. To celebrate his legacy, Alastair crafted a series of workshops and an augmented reality mural narrating Bob's extraordinary journey, which toured the region with support from Bishop Auckland Town Hall.
