In the depths of the first lockdown in 2020, Alastair teamed up with two stellar partners, Ben Ward and James Moor, to birth Elephant Arch Records (EAR), a Sheffield-based independent record label and creative community fueled by a shared passion for eclectic music. Over the course of a few years, the label released several vinyl and digital albums and EPs, and put on a bunch of gigs across Sheffield. Funding from arts charity Launchpad helped to provide a stage for unsigned and under-represented artists in South Yorkshire. In a special release competition, they asked for submissions from those who identify as LGBTQIA, female, or from marginalised genders, those who are deaf or disabled, or individuals from Global Majority ethnic backgrounds – representing a broade range of musical talent! As Co-Founder and Brand Identity Lead, Alastair was the driving force behind everything design and branding related for the label. He created the logo, the website design, live event posters, and many of the releases’ cover designs.
